On June 7, 2011 a small group of interested Ottawa residents met with previous organizers of CLUCK Ottawa, the group that began Ottawa’s urban hen campaign a few years ago. After many fine initiatives and with solid research and contacts in place, the former leaders felt it was time to hand over the torch. It was a smooth transition thanks to their tireless efforts and we, the new group, have big shoes to fill!
Newly renamed as Urban Hens Ottawa, we feel we’re off to a fine start – we’ve laid the framework for a plan of action and will meet again near the end of June to refine our plan and solidify the details of our campaign to have hens in Ottawa.
We will post an update shortly after our end-of-June meeting.
